Some of the world’s biggest animals are harming villagers in Cameroon. The people say hundreds of elephants and hippopotamuses have caused major damage to farms and destroyed their villages.
In 2014, Voice of America reported that Cameroon’s government said the elephants and hippopotamuses had killed several people. But officials and wildlife organizations warn against killing the animals. Both are protected species.
