Dubai, United Arab Emirates – The Sports for Conservation Organization (SECOTO) has appointed Gies Abdelmonim Ahamed Mohamed as Chairman of the Board and Co-Founder of the SECOTO Sports for Nature Museums – Road to 2030, a flagship initiative that seeks to unite sport, environmental conservation, innovation, culture, and international cooperation under one global platform.

The appointment marks a significant milestone in SECOTO’s Road to 2030, reinforcing the organization’s commitment to creating a lasting global legacy where sport becomes a powerful driver of environmental conservation, international cooperation, and sustainable development.
A Strategic Mandate to Deliver the Road to 2030 Vision
As Chairman of the Board and Co-Founder, Gies Abdelmonim Ahamed Mohamed has been entrusted with steering one of SECOTO’s most ambitious global initiatives. His mandate extends beyond governance, placing him at the forefront of shaping the SECOTO Sports for Nature Museums into a globally recognised institution by 2030.
He will provide strategic leadership for the museum’s overall development, guiding its journey from concept to implementation while ensuring that its governance reflects the highest international standards. A key priority will be building strong partnerships with governments, international organisations, museums, universities, development agencies, sporting institutions, and private-sector stakeholders to strengthen the project’s global reach and long-term sustainability.
Mr. Gies will also lead efforts to mobilise investment, sponsorship, and philanthropic support for the museum campus and its permanent pavilions, creating a strong financial foundation for the initiative. Alongside this, he will oversee the preparation of the museum’s masterplan, architectural design, exhibition concepts, and long-term operational framework, ensuring that every element reflects SECOTO’s vision of innovation, sustainability, and international collaboration.
His responsibilities further include establishing an International Board of Advisors to strengthen institutional governance, while representing the museum at major diplomatic engagements, investment forums, global conferences, and international exhibitions. Through these platforms, he will promote the museum as a world-leading centre for the Sports for Nature movement and an international hub for climate action, education, culture, and sustainable development.
Another cornerstone of his leadership will be guiding the creation of permanent country pavilions and thematic exhibition spaces that celebrate the contribution of more than 197 nations to sport, environmental conservation, and global cooperation. He will also oversee preparations for the museum’s diplomatic, commercial, and public launch phases, ensuring that the Road to 2030 is delivered through strategic planning, international partnerships, and measurable impact.
Under his leadership, the SECOTO Sports for Nature Museums aim not only to become a landmark destination, but also a lasting global legacy where sport serves as a catalyst for protecting nature, inspiring innovation, and strengthening cooperation among nations for generations to come.
