In a powerful demonstration of community-driven climate action, ISARO Econext, in partnership with YUHI, brought together residents of Mudende Sector in Rubavu District to plant 1,500 avocado trees across Mudende community. This reforestation and agroforestry initiative is part of a broader mission to restore degraded land, enhance local food security and build climate resilience in rural Rwanda and the whole Africa.
The tree planting event, on 4th May 2025, brought together women, youth and elders joined ISARO and YUHI at different designated planting sites in Mudende. Despite muddy terrain and grey skies, enthusiasm filled the air and the energy remained high throughout the day. Laughter echoed across the hills, children asked questions, farmers shared wisdom across generations and youth joined in with enthusiasm.
“This initiative is not only about planting trees. It’s about restoring land, improving food security and connecting people with the purpose of climate justice.” said GASARO N. Kristian_COO of ISARO Econext. “We envision a future where climate action is inclusive, transparent and rooted in community ownership,” He continoued

A Green Day in Mudende Sector
The event began in the early hours, as dozens of community members, Yuhi Team gathered at designated planting sites. With tools in hand and saplings in baskets, participants dug and planted tree after tree under the guidance of ISARO team.
“I planted one trees today. In the future, they will give fruits for my family and shade for the farm.” Proudly said Nyiramisoro Beatrice, A teenager from Mudende sector

These avocado trees are expected to offer long-term benefits for the area, including:
- Restoring degraded soil
- Increasing food production
- Providing shade and biodiversity cover
- Offering sustainable income through future avocado harvests
- Carbon sequestration

In addition to on-ground activities, ISARO Econext is pioneering digital tools that help businesses visualize and report the climate impact of their actions. Their platform, including a digital Impact API, makes it easier for partners to track their carbon footprint reductions in real time.
This unique blend of nature-based solutions and climate-smart technology allows ISARO Econext to serve as a bridge between local communities, companies’s CSR goals and global sustainability goals.
About Yuhi Technologies
Yuhi Technologies Forward-thinking Technologies is a Kigali-based company pioneering sustainable IT solutions. They offer carbon-neutral services such as large display solutions, networking, audio-visual systems, access control, and tech support. Yuhi Technologies offsets its carbon footprint by planting trees in partnership with local communities, making technology greener and more eco-friendly. Their focus on reducing environmental impact sets them apart in the tech industry.
What made the Mudende planting day truly remarkable was the community participation. Local leaders coordinated logistics, while residents took full ownership of the tree planting process; marking locations, spacing saplings and pledging to care for the trees long after the event ended.
By late afternoon, as the last few trees were lowered into the ground and given a first pour of water, participants stood back and admired their work: rows of green promise stretching across the hills.
“These are not just trees, They are gifts for our children and a sign that our land still has a future.” Said Jeanine Zaninka
The Bigger Picture

This planting event aligns with Rwanda’s national strategies on environmental protection and sustainable agriculture. It also contributes directly to global goals like:
- UN SDG 2 (Zero Hunger)
- UN SDG 13 (Climate Action)
- UN SDG 15 (Life on Land)
For ISARO Econext, it is another step in a long-term journey to restore millions of hectares of land and remove millions of tons of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere by 2030 starting with the people and places that matter most.
What’s Next?

The avocado trees planted in Mudende Sector will now be monitored regularly by both ISARO’s Green Agent with App and farmers with USSD code. Training on agroforestry practices, organic maintenance and long-term soil care will follow in the weeks to come.
As Rwanda continues to position itself as a leader in climate resilience and sustainability, events like this offer a blueprint for locally-led climate action that is both practical and transformational.
“We are proud of this day. The community showed us that environmental change isn’t something we wait for, it’s something we build together.” Said Ruti Patrick Dauphin, Yuhi Team
