As we are in ‘The 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence’, Tree Adaptation Uganda seizes this opportunity to highlight that women and girls are key players in climate change.
“As part of the 16 Days of Activism against Gender Based Violence (GBV), we celebrate and recognize the important role that women and girls play in advancing #ClimateAction initiatives. Together, we can bring an end to #GBV so that our women and girls can thrive” TAU posted on X.
The 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence (GBV) is an annual campaign that begins on 25 November, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, and runs through International Human Rights Day on 10 December.
Through landscape restoration activities like planting trees and agroforestry, Tree Adaptation Uganda builds resilience for small holder farmers against the changing climate while economically empowering unemployed young people in Uganda’s rural communities through education and training on setting up and managing indigenous tree nurseries and tree farms
