POSITION OVERVIEW
The Regional Editor will lead the magazine’s coverage of climate issues within a specific region. This role involves researching, writing, and editing articles that address local climate challenges, Green innovations, Sports, and entertainment for climate, tourism, and policies. The editor will work collaboratively with writers, photographers, and other editorial staff to produce compelling content that informs and engages our audience on climate-related topics.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Content Development:
- Research and identify key climate issues, trends, and stories relevant to the region.
- Commission and edit freelance writers’ and contributors’ articles, essays, and features.
- Collaborate with other editorial staff to ensure cohesive coverage across platforms.
Editing and Quality control:
- Review and edit submissions for clarity, accuracy, and adherence to the magazine’s style and tone.
- Ensure that all content is fact-checked and adheres to journalistic standards.
Audience Engagement:
- Develop content that resonates with the target audience, encouraging reader interaction and feedback.
- Utilize social media and other digital platforms to promote articles and engage with readers.
Networking and Collaboration:
- Establish and maintain relationships with climate scientists, activists, policymakers, and other stakeholders in the region.
- Attend and report on climate-related events, conferences, and community meetings.
Strategic Planning:
- Contribute to the editorial calendar by identifying timely themes and topics for upcoming issues.
- Stay informed on national and global climate issues to contextualize regional stories.
Monitoring Trends:
- Keep abreast of new research, policy developments, and technological advancements related to climate change.
- Analyze audience metrics to guide content strategy and improve engagement.
QUALIFICATION
- Bachelor’s degree in journalism, environmental science, or a related field.
- Proven experience in editorial roles, preferably with a focus on environmental or climate issues.
- Strong writing and editing skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Ability to translate complex scientific concepts into accessible language for a general audience.
- Excellent networking and communication skills.
- Familiarity with digital publishing and social media platforms.
PREFERRED SKILLS
- Experience with multimedia storytelling (video, podcasts, etc.).
- Understanding of climate science and policy.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
CONDITIONS:
- This position will involve occasional travel within the region and internationally.
- Flexibility in working hours may be required to meet deadlines.

SALARY:
The salary will be 35000- 45000 USD per year this will be changed according to the skills and Experiences
